In China, the stainless steel ball valves are widely used in petroleum refining, chemical industry, papermaking, pharmaceuticals, electric power, steel and other industries, which have occupied a pivotal position in the national economy. Apart from the gate valve, the shut-off valve is also used in the industrial crystallization. The axis of valve stem is perpendicular to the sealing surface of the valve. Hence, the opening or closing of the valve stem is relatively quick, and it has a very reliable for shut-off action, which can make the shut-off valve very suitable adjustment and throttling of the medium.
Once the shut-off valve is in the open state, there is no contact between its seat and disc, which can reduce the mechanical swearing of the sealing surfaces because most discs of the valve are easier to repair or to replace. Also, it is not necessary to remove the entire valve from the pipeline when replacing the sealing component in the shut-off valve, which is very suitable for the case where the valve and the pipeline are welded together. As the flow direction of the medium through this kind of valves has changed, the flow resistance of the shut-off valve is higher than other valves.
Shut-off valves which are commonly used are the gate valve, ball valve, butterfly valve, non-return valve, regulating valve, hydraulic control valve, pressure reducing valve.
